Emerging trends and opportunities for the region’s downstream aluminium industry
The Middle East is rapidly enhancing its competitive positioning as a leading downstream aluminium supplier to regional and global aluminium end-users including automotive assemblers, construction facade and installation firms, and cans and packaging manufacturers.
Government bodies including Qatar Automotive Gateway, Abu Dhabi Basic Industries and Takamul Investments Oman are showing strong support to develop the region’s downstream aluminium industry including giving attractive incentives to encourage finished aluminium production facilities to be located near to the aluminium smelters.
The region is further enhancing its competitive positioning by investing in the development of worldclass logistics facilities within the downstream industry clusters.
