Mr. Mariot is currently the Regional Head of Structured Finance BNP Paribas-GCC where he is entrusted to coordinate Structured Finance activities, including Project Finance and Advisory across the Gulf, as well as to head locally both, the Energy & Commodities and the Project Finance teams, as well as the Asset Finance activities.
Mr. Mariot has been strategically involved in high profile projects in the Gulf over the past 10 years. Some of his successful transactions in the region include: Al Hidd II first ECA/Islamic, Dolphin US$1bn Islamic tranche for which the bank was lead and documentation bank. Mr. Mariot has been a co-team leader on the advisory mandate for the 1,000MW IPP program for the Bahraini government: Al Ezzel, Al Hidd IWPP and Al Dur IWPP.
Mr. Mariot joined BNP Paribas in 1991 with the bank’s Structured Finance Team in London. He then held senior posts in Paris as part of the Asia team where he led several major transactions for the Bank with particular emphasis on Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan and Thailand. In 1995 he was seconded to Asia as Head of Structured Financing, based in Jakarta for four years.
Mr. Mariot is part of the Management Executive Committee in BNP Paribas GCC, and is also a member of the bank’s Executive Committee for the Islamic Banking Unit. He holds an MBA in Finance from Ecole Superieure de Commerce in France.
